Different people need different forms of accommodation, so we have a variety of properties. People can be referred to our accommodation services through local authorities and other partners in the areas we work.
We currently have 31 beds of emergency accommodation including a specialised trauma informed hub for young people 17-25years and we also offer 16 beds of supported accommodation in 4 homes across Wigan and Leigh.
We operate a range of accommodation services, from emergency accommodation such as A Bed Every Night, through to supported and semi-independent housing, to help people at every stage of their transition from homelessness.
We believe that it is the system that is the problem not the person. We support people to recover from the issues that cause homelessness, and a safe and stable living environment is central to this recovery.
Our accommodation is much more than a roof over a person’s head. Alongside having somewhere safe and secure to stay, our staff and volunteers work with residents to understand their hopes and ambitions, helping them to take the steps they need to achieve them. Our housing projects are the first step in developing a strong support system for those experiencing homelessness in the Wigan borough.
A Bed Every Night plays a key role in developing a template for the future and we share our frontline experience and knowledge with others to contribute to an improved strategy to support those experiencing homelessness in Wigan and nationally.
