Help The Brick to Support Local Families in Need with The Big Give

This week, The Brick is taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge, a national fundraising initiative that amplifies the power of community generosity. From 3rd-10th December, every pound donated to The Brick will be matched, giving donors the chance to double their impact and help us reach our £15,000 target.

The Brick needs the community to come together and raise £7,500, which will then be matched to reach the goal.

To celebrate the launch of this week of giving, the charity has unveiled The Christmas Brick film, starring Bowie the dog. Bowie is the festive hero who helps deliver Brick Boxes to those in need. The film highlights the impact the communities support has in making Christmas brighter for struggling families and individuals.

This year, The Big Give supports The Brick’s vital Multibank initiative, which provides essential resources, such as hygiene products, food, and cleaning supplies, to families and individuals facing poverty and homelessness in Wigan and Leigh.

The Brick is part of a wider national coalition of 5 charities, working collaboratively to deliver the Multibank initiative. Led by Multibanks UK, including The Brick, there are now 5 Multibanks in total operating across the UK; The Big House in Fife, Cwtch Mawr in Swansea, Felix’s Multibank in London and The Junction Multibank in Teeside.

“By supporting The Brick through The Big Give, you’re not just giving money—you’re giving hope,” says Keely Dalfen, CEO of The Brick. “Rising living costs are forcing families into impossible situations—parents washing their children’s clothes with soap because they cannot afford washing powder, families resorting to washing their hair with fairy liquid and babies are arriving at nursery wearing the same nappies from the night before.

“These harsh realities are what The Brick works tirelessly to address, and your donations can make a life-changing difference this Christmas. Every matched donation brings us closer to ensuring no family in Wigan and Leigh is left without essential items or the support they need to rebuild their lives.”
