About Us
The Brick provides help and support to individuals who have
had a direct experience of homelessness and rough sleeping, or
problems relating to those issues. We address the issues of a
client group that has a variety of complex needs. Issues such as
long term health needs associated with substance misuse and
unsettled lifestyle, psychiatric problems, institutionalised
behaviour resulting from criminal lifestyles and prison time, as
well as feelings of isolation and hopelessness are all part of
the work. These problems cannot be solved by a single agency,
and at every stage of the recovery journey there is a need for
multi-agency consultancy. We operate the Brick as a community in
recovery.
Our mission statement was devised 30 years ago by the Queens
Hall Help Committee:
"We will provide relief and help to homeless families and other
persons who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress"
This is enhanced by the Brick's bye-line "A Community in
Recovery"
